Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in India in the month of July or August. The sole objective of Sri Krishna’s birth was to free the Earth from the evilness of demons. All over India this day is celebrated with devotional songs and dances, pujas, arti, blowing of the Conch and rocking the cradle of baby Sri Krishna and Dahi Handi.
In Dr. Pillai Global Academy, Janmashtami was celebrated on 14th August, 2014. Students and teachers came dressed up in traditional clothes. The celebration included a skit on the birth of Lord Krishna followed by a dance performance by the primary students and making a human pyramid to break the earthen pot tied at a convenient height. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed this day.
