Independence Day was celebrated with pomp and patriotic fervour. The entire week showcased an activity related to Independence Day. Lower Grade students made the Indian Flag with the help of Candy Sticks. Middle Grade students made a cut out of the Tri – colour Tulip flower on Art Sheet and the Upper Grade students made a Greeting Card using spray paint. The students were delighted to take their respective creations home.
The Independence Day program started with a Show presented by our cute little Freedom Fighters. Some students sang Patriotic songs, while the other students came up with National Symbols, and an explanation of the importance of each symbol.
The program ended with a Group performance related to Independence Day.
Independence Day is a day when people in India pay homage to their leaders and those who fought for India’s freedom in the past. The period leading up to Independence Day is a time when major government buildings are illuminated with strings of lights and the tricolor flutters from homes and other buildings.
In Dr. Pillai Global Academy, Independence Day celebration began with the flag hoisting ceremony on the ground followed by the programs which were held in the auditorium. There was a dance performance by the students, speech in Hindi and English. On this day the IBDP students were felicitated for their performance and also the certificates were awarded to the students for their achievements in various fields.
