The celebration of the 68th Republic Day began on a solemn note with the school community – students, staff and parents in attendance for the unfurling of the flag, singing of the national anthem and renewal of the pledge.
Dr. Pillai Global Academy joined the other Institutions under the banner of the Mahatma Education Society (MES) at Pillai College of Engineering, Campus – Panvel on 21st January, 2017 for the annual Community Service Day.
Children at DPGA Borivali, were excited as the announcement for the celebration of children’s day came about. While the lower Primary joined the Early years at the celebrations in the school, the others preferred connecting to the universal energy through a visit to the Global Upasana Centre, Pagoda by the Gorai creek.
DPGA brings in the festive season of Diwali in its own inimitable way. Teachers and students begin preparations for the “Party Day” well in advance. Diyas are painted and decorated to be sold. An elaborate menu is decided upon that will be reasonably priced and sold on party day. The party area is decorated.
4th October is recognized as World Animal Day since 1931 to raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the Globe. The IBDP students of Dr. Pillai Global Academy proactively participated to generate awareness about extinct and critically endangered animals.
International Peace Day celebrated on 21st September, 2016.
Onam was celebrated with great joy at a special assembly on 16th September, 2016.
The lobby was decorated with beautiful flower rangoli. A video on onam was shown to the children. There after the teacher sang an onam song in malayalam and the children joined in the singing.
The World photography day is an International Photography day celebrated on 19th August every year. In our school we celebrated it with a Power Point presentation showing children the importance of this day.
‘Make new friends but keep the old. One is silver and the other is gold….’ and so goes one of the popular childhood tunes on friends.
To appreciate this beautiful relation called friendship, Dr Pillai Global Academy celebrated Friendship Day on 30th July, 2016.
Independence Day was celebrated with pomp and patriotic fervour. The entire week showcased an activity related to Independence Day. Lower Grade students made the Indian Flag with the help of Candy Sticks. Middle Grade students made a cut out of the Tri – colour Tulip flower on Art Sheet and the Upper Grade students made a Greeting Card using spray paint.
International Forgiveness Day is celebrated on 7th August. This day being a Sunday this year, DPGA celebrated it on 5th August. The day began with a beautiful Morning Prayer, at the morning assembly. The Dy. CEO Madam Sharda Sharma was the guest of honour for the event. The program was aimed at making them understand the meaning and value of “Forgiveness”.
World Hygiene Day was celebrated at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, Gorai on 12th July, 2016.
This day emphasized the importance of both personal and public hygiene. At Dr. Pillai Global Academy we believe celebrating such events not only helps raise the awareness of the importance of personal hygine but also makes it fun for children to get involved in cleanliness activities.
Dr. Pillai Global Academy, Borivali celebrated Environment Week from 27th June to 1st July 2016. The theme ‘Go Green’ resonated throughout the week. The students carried out various activities related to saving the environment.
International Music Day was celebrated on 30th June, 2016.
Teachers informed the students of the importance of music. They were taken to the Music room and shown different types of musical instruments such as guitar, piano, casio, drums, dholak, tabla etc.. Children played the musical instruments at the assembly.
Yoga is a series of physical and mental exercises. It aims to keep the body healthy.
In our school, International yoga day was celebrated on 21st June, 2016. The Session began with yoga exercises during the morning assembly. Physical education instructors spoke about and demonstrated different types of asanas and pranayams.
Christmas is the day when Jesus was born. His birth gives us a message of love, tolerance and brotherhood. It is a celebration of humanity and mankind. It is celebrated as a universal festival throughout the world.
Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in India in the month of July or August. The sole objective of Sri Krishna’s birth was to free the Earth from the evilness of demons.
