The North Creek Literacy Fest – Bookaru is celebrated every year at DPGA with an objective to promote academic learning & enhance the literacy skills of students. This year the Bookaru Fest, organised by Dr Pillai Global Academy, commenced on Monday, 18th September, 2017.
Student Exchange Program at M.E.T. School, Bandra – CAS Program
We are the 1st school in Mumbai who started the Student Exchange Program.
On 14th September, 2016 the IBDP students of DPGA celebrated Hindi divas through student exchange program at MET Rishi Gurukul School, Bandra.
The students of IBDP with secondary and primary grades undertook an educational trip to Amritsar and Dalhousie from 19th to 24th August, 2016 as a part of CAS experience. It was a rejuvenating experience for all students with the IBDP students being given the responsibility of their juniors. The IBDP students undertook this challenge serving to help the juniors.
IBDP students of DPGA, Gorai participated in the MES Inter School Rifle Shooting Championship for Boys and girls organized by Mahatma Education Society at Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus on 11th August, 2016. As activity is consider to be one of the most important elements of CAS, the students through this experience were able to develop new skills of Rifle shooting and identify their strength.
Help! “We are nearly out of space”
The IB Students of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, Gorai planned and organised a street play (Nookad Natak) for the students of Pragati Vidhyalaya School, Gorai – 2 to spread awareness about the rise in population and other issues related to Gender equality, human rights, corruption, lack of resources, adoption etc.
The IBDP students of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, Gorai, undertook a new CAS experience of Web Designing in the computer lab under the guidance of Miss Nikita. Web design encompasses many different skills and disciplines in the production and maintenance of websites.
Learning something new can be a scary experience. The IB students of DPGA Gorai initiated and enhanced their swimming skills as their CAS experience. Under the guidance of the swimming coach Ms. Neelam Rane. This activity also creates space for IB students to enjoy and counter balance the academic pressures of the Diploma programme. It is an excellent form of exercise for the muscles, heart and lungs.
DPGA Gorai saw another exuberant celebration with the students organizing the Multicuisine Food Festival on the last day before their Diwali Vacation. All the 4 houses (Gandhi, Lincoln, Churchill and Lenin) were given an opportunity to utilize their creative skills in preparing food. The theme of the day was ‘Ice and Salt’.
In their effort to reach out to the community at large, the IB students embarked on a Programme of Enhancing the Communication and Linguistic Skills of students, from Pragati Vidyalaya (English / Marathi medium) in the age group of 8 – 12 years.
